United stay in touch with Bolton win
Manchester United 2 Bolton 0
Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes combined to condemned Bolton to their fifth successive Barclays Premiership defeat and ensure Manchester United maintained their pursuit of leaders Chelsea.
Giggs put the hosts in front with an acrobatic ninth minute volley but despite dominating the contest, it was virtually stoppage time before Scholes, on as a substitute, wrapped up the win with his seventh goal in as many games.
It was not quite an afternoon to remember for United though as Wayne Rooney faces the possibility of an FA charge after shoving Bolton defender Tal Ben Haim in the face just before half-time.
