Gerrard keen on Morientes swoop

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has urged the Anfield board to dig deep into the club’s coffers and sign Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes in the January transfer window.

The Reds are desperate to strengthen their attacking options, after French forward Djibril Cisse suffered a broken leg earlier in the season.
