Upson handed England recall
Sven-Goran Eriksson tonight handed Matthew Upson a recall to the England squad for next week’s friendly in Spain.
Eriksson is without not only Sol Campbell, who has a calf injury, but also Ledley King, who pulled out of contention for a call-up with a knee problem following today’s North London derby.
The England coach has also recalled Wayne Bridge and Chris Kirkland after injury, but there is no place for Kieron Dyer, who is only just back after a long-term absence.
