Arsenal finally shook off their Old Trafford hangover, but only after an incredible north London derby at White Hart Lane as they prevailed against Tottenham in a nine-goal thriller.

Spurs may have taken the lead through Noureddine Naybet but Arsenal equalised through Thierry Henry and then went 3-1 ahead through Lauren and Freddie Ljungberg.

While Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires also scored for the visitors, Jermain Defoe, Ledley King and Freddie Kanoute were on target for the home side, but new manager Martin Jol still suffered an amazing defeat.
