Longford's Murphy to miss season finale
Longford Town will be without defender Alan Murphy for the last two games of the season after he picked up a three-match ban.
Murphy was sent off against Shamrock Rovers on October 16 and has already sat out one match of his suspension, but the next two will have to come after November 10, meaning the FAI Cup winners will be without Murphy for the matches against Derry City and his former club Drogheda in the last game of the season.
Waterford United player-manager Alan Reynolds was handed a two-match ban following his dismissal against Cork City on October 15. Like Murphy, he has already served one match of his ban and the second will be the trip to Shelbourne on November 12.
Other suspensions issued by the Disciplinary Commission and announced on today were one-match bans for Cork City midfielder Joe Gamble, Bohemians' James Keddy, and Stephen Quigley of St Patrick’s Athletic. All three reached four penalty points while Drogheda’s Steven Gray picked up a one-game suspension for reaching eight penalty points.
All the above bans are effective from November 10, meaning Gamble and Gray will both miss second-placed Cork’s visit to Drogheda on Friday, November 12 while Keddy is unavailable for Bohs the same night at home to Dublin City.
Quigley, meanwhile, sits out the home game against Shamrock Rovers that same evening.
