Ormerod set to start

Brett Ormerod will play his third game in five days as Southampton host Colchester in the third round of the Carling Cup tomorrow.

Ormerod came on as a substitute for Saints against Birmingham on Saturday 24 hours after playing the last game of his month’s loan at Leeds.

The striker will be restored to the starting line-up against Colchester with James Beattie, Kevin Phillips and Peter Crouch all still injured.

Saints will also be without Graeme Le Saux, Jason Dodd, Michael Svensson, Marian Pahars and Matt Oakley as they go in search of a place on the last 16.
