Vikings vow to come out fighting

Dublin City manager Roddy Collins says his relegation-haunted players have no option but to launch an all-out attack against league leaders Shelbourne tonight at Tolka Park (7.45pm).

The Vikings look hopelessly adrift at the foot of the Premier Division and are hanging onto their top-flight status by their fingertips.

Collins welcomes back striker Robbie Farrell following a one-match ban and the boss insisted his side has to throw caution to the wind in the top versus bottom, landlords against tenants clash.

"I appreciate more than anyone that the games are running out for us but as long as there is a mathematical possibility that we can survive, we are going to give every game our best shot," Collins told the club's website.

"It's no use sitting back, we have to go out and have a go. We've been playing well and we're strong across the back and we've got some talented midfielders.

"If we can take some of the chances which fall our way, we have the ability to get our noses in front. If that were to happen, we'll take it from there and see how things work out."

Shels, who have issues of their own at the other end of the table as they try to close up a successful title defence, have problems in midfield for tonight's game with both Stuart Byrne and Ollie Cahill out serving suspensions.
