Cork get good win at Longford
Longford Town 1 Cork City 2
Cork City kept their title hopes alive as they made it five wins in a row beating Longford Town 2-1 at Flancare Park.
Longford had their minds on Sunday’s FAI Cup final with Waterford United and were easily beaten with Kevin Doyle scoring two first-half goals.
Doyle bundled home a Liam Kearney corner for the opening goal in the fourth minute before heading home another Kearney corner in the 27th minute to seal the victory.
Dessie Baker headed home a consolation goal in injury time for Longford though there was not enough time to complete the comeback.
