Viduka misses Aussie encounter
Mark Viduka has been ruled out of Australia’s Confederations Cup qualifier with the Solomon Islands.
The Middlesbrough striker had been due to fly home tomorrow for his country’s double-header which will determine whether they will take part in next summer’s tournament in Germany.
But, after missing today’s 1-1 draw at Manchester United with a hip injury, Viduka is now due to visit a specialist to determine the precise extent of the damage.
“Mark has had a hip problem and will see a specialist tomorrow,” confirmed Boro boss Steve McClaren.
“We hope to clear the problem up during the international break, so he won’t be joining up with Australia.”
