Cork bid for back-to-back wins
Cork City return to Turners Cross for their first home game in six weeks when Shamrock Rovers visit Leeside tonight in the premier division (7.45pm).
Manager Pat Dolan and his players look to have put their recent in-fighting to one side, though that point could be underlined by a return to the starting line-up for the most vocal of dissidents - George O'Callaghan. City are bidding to record back-to-back victories for the first time in 2004.
O’Callaghan was influential coming off the bench last week as Cork beat bottom side Dublin City.
Even though Dolan has a full strength squad from which to select, he could well be tempted to keep his side unchanged from that 1-0 victory over the Vikings as the Leesiders aim to leapfrog Munster rivals Waterford United into fourth place with a win tonight.
That also means Neale Fenn could stay out of the picture after being dropped while full-back Neal Horgan will continue his returning from a broken leg suffered in April against Waterford.
While Cork City have a full deck, Shamrock Rovers will limp into the game out of form and missing six first-team players.
One point from seven games, gained in a 1-1 draw with Cork on September 11, is relegation form and although Rovers are nine points above basement dwellers Dublin City they desperately need points to ensure their survival.
Defender Jason McGuinness is suspended while Trevor Croly, Liam Kelly, Fiachra McArdle, Gavin McDonnell and Derek Tracey are all missing through injury.
