Johnsen signs for Magpies

Former Norwegian international Ronny Johnsen has signed for Newcastle until the next transfer window in January.

Johnsen was a free agent after training with Southampton over the summer but failing to land a contract.

Last year Johnsen played with Aston Villa, who he joined after leaving Manchester United.

Graeme Souness made no secret of his desire to land Johnsen since taking over as Newcastle manager earlier this week.
