Blackburn chief lines up contenders

Blackburn chief executive John Williams has denied having a major bust-up with Graeme Souness and revealed the Lancashire club should have a short-list of applicants to become his successor by the end of today.

Souness told surprised Williams on Sunday that he planned to quit the Ewood Park club to take over from Bobby Robson at St James’ Park.
