No regrets for Miller

Liam Miller is now fully convinced that he has made the best career move of his life.

Manchester United came knocking at his home up in Motherwell in Scotland, and he is glad he answered the door.

“I love it at Manchester United, the complex at Carrington, the training facilities and the back-up is brilliant. And the fact that there are Irish lads like Roy (Keane) and John (O’Shea) there is great for me.

“It’s a massive club, a massive place to play and now that I have experienced it first hand I can’t complain,” said Miller, tongue-in-cheek after Ireland’s 1-1 draw with Bulgaria at Lansdowne Road last night.

On the 1-1 draw with Bulgaria, the Ovens man said the manager and players took a few positives out of it.

“We had a few positives tonight and the signs overall are good. The gaffer managed to get a look at everyone and personally I feel that with every game I play my sharpness is getting better and better.

“I just need games really. I think I have got all I can out of training and it’s just match fitness now.

“The team spirit is good and we just can’t wait to play Cyprus now,” said Miller.

“The injuries are behind me now. I was in over the summer working away at rehab at Old Trafford but I was unlucky not to make the American pre-season tour.

“I just wasn’t ready and there was no point in pushing it. I have got the groin injury sorted now, and I just want to focus on the football now and keep playing for club and country,” he added.
