Santini pleads for patience over transfer

New Tottenham coach Jacques Santini is bracing himself for a rude awakening in his first season in the Premiership – with or without Owen Hargreaves.

Club officials confirmed they are in negotiations with Bayern Munich for the England midfielder – but former France coach Santini remained tight-lipped over whether the deal was likely to go through.
