Lens midfielder could join Bhoys
Charles-Edouard Coridon’s agent today claimed Celtic manager Martin O’Neill is still interested in signing the player if an agreement is made with Lens.
The Bhoys manager was coy last night over whether the trialist had done enough in the 2-0 friendly win over Tottenham for him to pursue a transfer.
The French club are believed to want £1.5m (€2.2m) for the 31-year-old midfielder but his agent Willie McKay is not ruling out a deal.
He told the Press Association: “I spoke to Martin O’Neill this morning and negotiations are ongoing.
“He wants to see what he would cost in transfer fees because he is still contracted to the club.
“It’s up to Celtic and Lens to come to an arrangement but there won’t be any loan deal because he has a year to go.
“Martin reckons Charles is a good player and Charles is hoping a decision will be made by Monday.”
Coridon was also watched by Everton manager David Moyes last night and flew back to Lens today.
