Ince in line for Wolves return

Paul Ince will return to the Wolves starting line-up for their clash with Preston tonight in the Coca-Cola Championship.

The former England midfielder missed Sunday’s defeat at Stoke through suspension after his sending-off against Tottenham on the last day of their relegation season.

“We missed Incey’s drive, commitment and leadership at Stoke,” said manager Dave Jones.

“They are all reasons why he is at the club and he will show all of those tonight.”

Jones wants his players to respond to the disappointing opening game when his strikers struggled to create chances.

“They need to think that if they are selected for Preston then it is their chance to put that right,” Jones added.

“When you lose a game then the doom-and-gloom merchants set about you but all that we must be concerned with is getting out on that pitch and making up for Sunday’s defeat.”

Jones will be without Vio Ganea, George Ndah and Carl Cort for the game at Molineux.

Dean Sturridge was taken off at half-time at the Britannia Stadium and may be replaced with Leon Clarke.

Ricardo Fuller misses out for the visitors as he is travelling to America to see knee specialist Dr Richard Steadman. The former Hearts striker’s move to Portsmouth collapsed when he failed a medical and he travels to Colorado to have the damage assessed.

Marlon Broomes and Simon Lynch are both suspended for Craig Brown’s side and Paul McKenna, Graham Alexander and Callum Davidson are struggling with injuries.

Andy Reid will start for Nottingham Forest in their clash against Ipswich at the City Ground.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder has been attracting interest from Barclays Premiership clubs and manager Joe Kinnear admitted a £5m (€7.4m) offer would be accepted.

Centre-back Jon Olav Hjelde is eligible to play after signing a 12-month contract. The 32-year-old spent last season with Korean side Busan Icons and has received clearance from the South Korean Football Association.

“Jon knows that Wes Morgan and Michael Dawson will be my first choice central defensive pairing when they are both available,” said Kinnear.

“But Jon is an experienced player and we need guys like him around. We had it last year with Des Walker and Jon fits that bill,” he told the official club website www.nottinghamforest.co.uk.

Jim Magilton and Jason de Vos could miss out tonight after suffering injuries in the win against Gillingham.

Magilton has a thigh injury while de Vos has knee trouble, meaning loan signing Tony Dinning could make his first appearance since arriving from Cardiff.

Defenders Mo Konjic and Jamie Vincent have been back training for Derby but neither will be ready for the clash with Leicester.

Manager George Burley is set to pick the same team which lost at Elland Road in the first game of the Championship, with summer arrivals Tommy Smith, Inigo Idiakez and Morten Bisgaard set to play again.

Leicester will be without suspended striker Dion Dublin after his sending-off against West Ham last weekend.

The former Aston Villa striker will miss the next three games after his dismissal for violent conduct and Nathan Blake is now set to partner David Connolly up front.
