Spain name Aragones as new boss

Spain have today named Real Mallorca boss Luis Aragones as their new coach following the sacking of Inaki Saez last month.

Aragones, aged 66, has been appointed following Spain’s poor performance at Euro 2004, where they were eliminated at the first-round group stage.

“I want to confirm that we have decided to appoint Luis Aragones to the post of Spain coach,” Spanish federation president (RFEF) president Angel Maria Villar told a press conference in Madrid.
