Giannakopoulos out for Greece
Greece will be without key midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos as they attempt to secure their passage to the Euro 2004 quarter-finals against Russia.
The 29-year-old Bolton player is out of Sunday’s game at the Estadio Algarve after damaging a calf muscle in the 1-1 draw with Spain in Porto on Wednesday.
With Georgios Karagounis, the man who got the campaign off to a flying start with his strike against hosts Portugal, also out through suspension, coach Otto Rehhagel will have to shuffle his pack and Themistoklis Nikolaidis and Vasilios Tsiartas could me the men to benefit.
