Jol is Spurs' new number two
Tottenham have continued their overhaul of the coaching staff at White Hart Lane with the appointment of former Dutch international Martin Jol as assistant to Jacques Santini.
Jol, 48, has been head coach of RKC Waalwijk for the past six years following a successful playing career which included spells at West Brom and Coventry.
He will join Spurs after Euro 2004 and told the club’s official website, www.spurs.co.uk: “I am extremely happy to be joining Tottenham Hotspur. I know the club well from my time in England as a player.
“I enjoyed my time at RKC, but I wanted a new and exciting challenge.
“Joining such a great club as Tottenham Hotspur is the right opportunity for me.
“I regard Jacques Santini as one of the best coaches in Europe and am very excited at the prospect of working with him, [sporting director] Frank Arnesen and all the good players that we have at the club.”
