Switzerland started their preparations for Sunday’s opening Euro 2004 clash with Group B rivals Croatia in earnest today.

Jakob Kuhn’s side arrived at their Portuguese base, the luxury Praia del Rey Hotel in Obidos, on Monday following Saturday’s unconvincing 1-0 warm-up victory over minnows Liechtenstein, and trained for the first time yesterday evening.
