Keane shines in first half
Rep of Ireland 0-0 Romania
Roy Keane was cheered every time he touched the ball as he ended his international exile and returned to the Republic of Ireland team to earn his 59th cap in the friendly against Romania at Lansdowne Road.
The 32-year-old Manchester United captain was the focal point of the night and he took just eight minutes to show Ireland some of what they had missed in the past two years.
Although it did not result in a goal, Keane made a storming run from midfield to the right edge of the area before delivering a dangerous low cross which the goalkeeper did well to block as Clinton Morrison charged in on the line.
