Celtic send out strongest side
There were no surprises in the Celtic starting line-up as Martin O’Neill fielded the strongest side available to him.
Up front of course was Henrik Larsson in his final competitive match for the Hoops. Chris Sutton was his strike partner on a day when his younger brother, John, was hoping to be part of Millwall’s FA Cup final with Manchester United.
Dunfermline were without skipper Scott Thomson, defender Scott Wilson and Irish striker Noel Hunt through injury, with Barry Nicholson wearing the captain’s armband.
Larsson captained Celtic in the final league game but Jackie McNamara led out the team today, with club captain Paul Lambert only a substitute.
Darren Young overcame fitness fears to start for the Pars, who were looking for their first Tennent’s Scottish Cup win since 1968.
