Rangers end season with high-note comeback
Dunfermline 2 Rangers 3
Ten-man Rangers ended a dismal season with a remarkable victory by coming back to beat Dunfermline 3-2 at East End Park.
Gary Dempsey had fired the Pars ahead and within three minutes captain Michael Mols had been sent off for two bookable offences.
But Fernando Ricksen and Chris Burke netted before the break and Ross McCormack, on his full debut, converted a second half penalty clincher, with Dempsey’s second free- kick goal a consolation.
Dunfermline sent on Andy Tod and Sean Kilgannon for Byrne and Darren Young in the 70th minute.
Tod was sent up front and sent a header inches wide.
Burke tried to chip Stillie again after beating three players in a super run but this time the goalkeeper was behind it.
In the 82nd minute Davidson was handed a debut when he came on for Lovenkrands.
Hughes survived a late penalty shout for handball from a Kilgannon cross.
Dempsey had a great chance to level it in stoppage time but McGregor made a point-blank save.
