Vikings earn draw at Longford

Longford slumped to a second scoreless draw on the spin as Vikings left Flancare Park the happier.

Michael Dempsey kept Town in it early on with a couple of good stops, most notably from a Cathal O’Connor free-kick on the half hour.

Town had another close shave just before the break when a mistake by Alan Kirby gave the ball to Gary O’Neill who skipped by Barry Ferguson only to shoot wide.

A dreadful second half was best forgotten.
