Money not everything, says Keane

Roy Keane believes Manchester United can still compete with super-rich Chelsea in the transfer market.

Billionaire Russian owner Roman Abramovich has given Chelsea have the financial clout to buy any player.

But Keane insists the size of the pay packet is not the only consideration for top players and that joining United is still an attractive proposition when the whole package is considered.

“I think if Manchester United are interested in a player there’s always a pretty good chance of them coming to Old Trafford,” Keane told the Sunday Mirror.

“Some players out there will look at their wage packet as their priority, and they are entitled to do that, but most players will look at the whole package.

“Our club has proven over the years that the gaffer will always give young players a chance.”
