O'Leary wants one last push
David O’Leary is calling on his over-achieving Aston Villa side to push on until the end of the season for a possible Champions League slot.
Villa travel to Southampton at the weekend then close the campaign by hosting Manchester United.
O’Leary and his team are full of confidence at a crucial stage of the season after the 1-0 defeat of Tottenham extended their unbeaten run to seven games. They took over fifth spot from Newcastle and are only a point behind Liverpool.
Villa boss O’Leary said: “We have two matches left and we will try and win them. It will be tough at Southampton but we will try and get all three points. Then we have Manchester United back here.
"We will give it a go.
“The one thing that has given us a chance is that we haven’t picked up too many injuries.”
Juan Pablo Angel’s 22nd goal of the season took them to victory yesterday on O’Leary’s 46th birthday.
