Wolves want Camara hearing

Wolves will request a personal hearing with the Football Association in a bid to save striker Henri Camara from a three-match ban.

Wolves will request a personal hearing with the Football Association in a bid to save striker Henri Camara from a three-match ban.

Camara faces the charge following his tackle on Jason Dodd in Wolves’ Molineux clash with Southampton earlier this month.

The Senegal star was booked for the challenge but referee Mark Halsey subsequently viewed video evidence and decided it was worthy of a sending-off.

If Camara’s punishment is upgraded, Wolves can decide whether to start the suspension immediately or wait for 14 days, effectively meaning it would be held over until the start of next season.

Boss Dave Jones told Wolves’ official website: “We just want the hearing out of the way.

“We are obviously fighting the charge but you can’t pre-empt anything. We just have to put forward our defence of Henri and see what happens.”

If Camara was to serve the ban immediately he would miss Wanderers’ three remaining games against Everton, Newcastle and Tottenham as they face a probable return to the First Division.
