Stuart close to new Charlton deal

Charlton midfielder Graham Stuart is close to signing a new one-year deal with the Premiership club.

The 33-year-old, returning after a six-match absence due to a back injury, is out of contract in the summer.

But he told the club’s official website: “We just have a couple of loose ends to tie up with regards to the contract and I’m pretty confident I will be here next year.

“I’m out of contract in the summer, but it’s virtually done and dusted and I would be delighted to be here next season – which will hopefully see us playing European football.”
