Forlan handed Uruguay boost
New Uruguay boss Jorge Fossati has named Diego Forlan amongst 31 European-based players for a three-day training session in Madrid.
The Manchester United striker is under pressure at Old Trafford after a disappointing season but is hoping to stay at the club.
Fossati will use the sessions to sort out his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and Forlan will be desperate to keep himself on the world stage.
The players will take part in the warm-up on April 26-28 at Atletico Madrid’s facilities.
Fossati has replaced Juan Ramon Carrasco, who was sacked after the embarrassing 3-0 defeat at home against Venezuela in the fifth round of the South American World Cup qualifiers.
His first official match will be in early June, when Uruguay host Peru.
