Dunfermline boss makes peace with SFA
Dunfermline manager Jimmy Calderwood and the Scottish Football Association have settled their differences following remarks made by the Pars boss about Berti Vogts.
Calderwood told a fans’ forum in January that he believed Vogts broke promises to give some of his players a chance at international level, while other Pars regulars were overlooked completely.
During the chat with supporters he joked “a few people in Holland told me never to trust Germans”, which angered the Scotland manager.
But, after speaking to the SFA, the matter has now been dropped.
Calderwood told the Scottish Sun: “I could have answered by letter but I wanted to state my case personally.
“The committee were great. I told them how it was. It was just a joke – a comment at the end of a charity night.”
