Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that he is still interested in signing highly-rated Huddersfield striker Jon Stead.

Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that he is still interested in signing highly-rated Huddersfield striker Jon Stead.

The Black Cats had an £800,000 (€1.1m) bid for the 18-goal youngster turned down by the Third Division club earlier this season but McCarthy is still hopeful of agreeing a deal.
