Foxes tie up Canero deal

Kilmarnock defender Peter Canero has agreed terms on a two-and-a-half-year deal with Leicester.

Foxes boss Micky Adams had set Canero a deadline of 2pm today to agree to the transfer and the 23-year-old accepted the offer.

Leicester refused to divulge the fee – believed to be £250,000 -- and the paperwork connected with the transfer is expected to be completed on Monday.

“We made him an offer, a decent offer, and he had a lot to think about but had until 2pm Friday and if he didn’t agree then we would have moved on,” said Adams.

“Canero’s just 23 and my thoughts are we would try and get a couple of younger players into the squad for the benefit of the club in future years.”
