Jones poised for Boro debut

Young Australian goalkeeper Brad Jones could be set for his Barclaycard Premiership debut for Middlesbrough against Fulham at the Riverside tomorrow night.

A back injury forced regular number one Mark Schwarzer out of the FA Cup win over Notts County at the weekend, when Jones kept a clean sheet.

Jones withdrew from an Olympic Games qualifying tournament earlier this month to be on stand-by for Boro, with usual back-up Carlo Nash needing surgery on his injured finger.

Boro will, though, be without midfielder Jonathan Greening, who has been ruled out for at least two months with tonsillitis.

Midfielder Juninho could return, along with fellow Brazilian Doriva, who is now fit again after an ankle problem.

Stewart Downing is likely to retain his place on the left wing, but Spanish midfielder Gaizka Mendieta is doubtful with a virus and striker Michael Ricketts has a slight knee injury, so fit again Cameroon striker Joseph-Desire Job could lead the attack.
