Mendieta misses Cup clash

Middlesbrough will be without Spanish international Gaizka Mendieta for tomorrow’s FA Cup third round clash with Second Division Notts County.

The former Lazio star has been allowed to return to Spain for a short break, although manager Steve McClaren will again be able to call on the services of Brazilian Doriva, who has recovered from an ankle injury.

Strikers Szilard Nemeth (thigh) and Joseph-Desire Job (knee) are also included after injury lay offs, while defenders Ugo Ehiogu and Stuart Parnaby played against Manchester United on Sunday after recovering from cruciate ligament problems.
