No Ewood move for Ilie
Blackburn boss Graeme Souness has dropped plans to sign Romanian international striker Adrian Ilie.
The 29-year-old former Alaves forward has been on trial with Rovers this week but Souness is aiming to bring in a more physically-imposing target man.
Souness told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "We won't be taking Adrian. He's a good player but we feel that's he too similar to the people we've got here already.
"We are now talking to someone else about bringing a striker in. We are looking for a different type of striker, a bigger one with a bit of presence, whereas Adrian is a similar type to Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Matt Jansen and Paul Gallagher."
Souness has identified another striker currently playing for a foreign club he will attempt to sign in the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, Garry Flitcroft and Tugay are both fit for Saturday's match with Tottenham after recovering from a knock and illness respectively.
