Derry keep hopes alive with home win

Derry City climb off the bottom of the Premier Division with just one game remaining following this vital win.

The result means that Derry go into the final game of the season with Waterford United two points ahead of fellow strugglers UCD who face Longford Town.

The only goal of the game came in 16th minute when an Eddie McCallion cross from the right was missed by the entire Bohemians defence leaving Sean Hargan with the simple task of heading home at the far post.

Bohemians best opportunity of the game came after just 43 seconds when midfielder Fergal Harkin struck the post with a 25-yard effort.
