Gary Neville remains Manchester United’s main doubt for tomorrow’s home Barclaycard Premiership clash with Blackburn after aggravating an Achilles tendon injury before last Sunday’s England friendly against Denmark.

Neville played only 15 minutes before making a precautionary early exit and has been under treatment all week. His younger brother Phil is on stand-by to switch to right-back should Gary not make the early kick-off at Old Trafford.

Eric Djemba-Djemba, Nicky Butt and Brazilian World Cup winner Kleberson are in contention for Phil’s place in midfield, while Sir Alex Ferguson plans to check on the fitness of all the players who were away on international duty last week before finalising his plans.

Provisional squad: Howard, G Neville, P Neville, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Fortune, Ronaldo, Keane, Kleberson, Butt, Djemba-Djemba, Giggs, van Nistelrooy, Forlan, O’Shea, Bellion, Fletcher, Carroll.
