Eriksson: I need Rio for finals

Sven-Goran Eriksson had admitted his desire to have Rio Ferdinand available for the Euro 2004 finals as the defender waits to learn his fate after failing to take a drug test.

The Manchester United star will be left out of the England squad for this weekend’s friendly against Denmark, just as he was for the Euro 2004 qualifier against Turkey last month.
