Shels extend top-of-the-table lead
Shelbourne 3 Waterford United 1
GOALS from Jamie Harris, Wes Hoolahan and a David Mulcahy own goal at Tolka Park helped Shelbourne stretch their lead at the top of the Premier Division table to seven points.
Harris got Shels off to the best possible start with a goal after only 13 minutes. He muscled Gerry McLoughlin off the ball after being set up by Hoolahan, who got on the scoresheet himself seven minutes before half time, following a mix-up between 'keeper Dan Connor and McLoughlin.
It got worse for Waterford when Jim Crawford's shot deflected off Mulcahy to make it 3-0 on the hour before an Alan Reilly goal on 64 minutes gave Jimmy McGoeugh's men a consolation.
