Bellamy jets to US for knee op

Newcastle striker Craig Bellamy has jetted out to America for a sixth knee operation in a bid to get his career back on track.

The 24-year-old Welshman has been sent to see top expert Richard Steadman, the Denver-based specialist who saved Alan Shearer’s career, and is expected to undergo surgery within the next 24 hours in a bid to solve the tendinitis problem which has plagued him for weeks.
