Savage worry for Blues

Robbie Savage is a major doubt for Birmingham’s Barclaycard Premiership clash with Chelsea tomorrow night.

The Welsh midfielder has failed to shrug off the Achilles problem which ruled him out of the defeat at Old Trafford 10 days ago and his country’s Euro 2004 qualifier with Serbia and Montenegro.

Steve Bruce is also without striker Mikael Forssell, who cannot play under the terms of the pre-season loan agreement entered into with the Stamford Bridge side. Nico Vaesen and Martin Grainger remain on the long-term injury list.
