Bellamy fined over nightclub fracas

Wales and Newcastle soccer star Craig Bellamy was fined today for an incident outside a nightclub.

The striker was “fuelled by drink” when he tried to get into the club after it had closed its doors, Cardiff Magistrates’ Court heard.

Bellamy, aged 24, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

A charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words of behaviour which were racially aggravated was withdrawn by the court.
