Sol Campbell will face a Football Association disciplinary hearing on Wednesday when he will be asked to explain his challenge on Manchester United’s Eric Djemba-Djemba.

Sol Campbell will face a Football Association disciplinary hearing on Wednesday when he will be asked to explain his challenge on Manchester United’s Eric Djemba-Djemba.

The Arsenal defender kicked out at Djemba-Djemba after a foul in the Community Shield, an incident which was missed by referee Steve Bennett but picked up by television cameras.

Campbell, who missed the controversial goalless draw with United at Old Trafford following the death of his father, has been called to a hearing on Wednesday – the day before he is due to fly out to Turkey for the crunch Euro 2004 qualifier.
