Elber questions top Bhoy Larsson

Lyon striker Giovane Elber has questioned the credentials of Celtic star Henrik Larsson ahead of their Champions League showdown at Parkhead tomorrow.

The Swede has just been voted the best black player to have played in Britain by topping a BBC poll.

But Brazilian striker Elber, who won the Champions League with Bayern Munich, was not impressed.

He said: “Larsson is a big-name player who has scored a lot of goals in the Scottish league.

“But where does he rank among the top strikers?

“He has only played one match in the Champions League this year and hasn’t done much in the history of the competition.”

Larsson topped the BBC4 poll ahead with Liverpool’s John Barnes second and Arsenal’s Ian Wright third.
