Rovers dump more woe on Students

Goals from Glen Fitzpatrick and Tony Grant made it a happy home from homecoming for Rovers as they beat hosts UCD to earn what was only their second win in nine games.

Rovers started well and deservedly took the lead on 22 minutes when Stephen Grant set up Fitzpatrick to finish.

UCD, missing a host of players through injury and suspension, then lost left-back Hugh Davey shortly before half time when he was sent off for a bad challenge on Trevor Croly.

Grant then sealed the win on 71 minutes when Fitzpatrick set him up to finish.
