Brian Kerr today hailed Turkey as the most-improved footballing nation in Europe over the last 25 years – and spelt out the dangers England face when they meet them in next month’s decisive Euro 2004 qualifier.

The Republic of Ireland face the Turks in a friendly at Lansdowne Road tomorrow night in a match requested by the visitors as an important warm-up for their decisive Group Seven Euro 2004 qualifier at home to England next month.
