Derry prepare for Apoel Nicosia tie

Derry City have hardly had the best preparation for their match in Cyprus against Apoel Nicosia.

The eircom League side played a glamour fixture against Barcelona on Tuesday, going down 5-0.

“It is not ideal,” admitted manager Dermot Keely. “In a perfect world we would not have played a game on Tuesday.

“But you cannot turn down the chance to play Barcelona.”
