United closing on Portuguese starlet

Manchester United are close to completing the signing of highly-rated Portuguese teenager Cristiano Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon.

According to reports, the 18-year-old is set to become the club’s fourth summer signing after the arrivals of David Bellion, Tim Howard and Eric Djemba-Djemba.

Brazilian midfielder Kleberson is also tying up the loose ends of a £5m (€7m) deal which would make him United’s fifth acquisition.

United declined to comment today on reports that Cristiano Ronaldo had already joined.
