Fergie fancies 'another few years' at United

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson insists he will go into the new season as hungry for success as ever and has no plans to walk away from Old Trafford.

The 62-year-old had planned to retire from football in May 2002 before a change of heart saw him sign a new contract which still has 18 months to run.

However, the Scot has now suggested that he will be willing to stay on for even longer if he is still wanted by the Premiership champions.

“I have no plans to retire. I could go on for another few years if they want me,” said Ferguson.

“As far as I am concerned I feel great. There is nothing in me that says the decision I made to stay on has been wrong.”
