Women's squad named for Student Games
The Irish women’s football squad for the World University Games in Korea in August has now been finalised.
The team played in a warm-up tournament in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland last weekend which involved eight teams including teams from Northern Ireland, England and Wales.
The Irish Universities won the event defeating Liverpool FC in the final 2-1 with both goals coming from Maz Sweeney.
The 22nd Summer Universiade to be held in Daegu, Kore, and will bring together approximately 11,000 athletes from 170 countries to compete in a wide range of sports from August 21 to August 31.
